This is the mission statement for the project.
It summarises the nature and background of the event.
The Passion For Bolton aims to present a live, high quality drama on Bolton Town Hall Square in 2011 and hopefully again in future years. The drama will enact key moments of the First Easter in a relevant way for th general public in Bolton, whilst retaining integrity with Biblical narrative. The core organisers are local church groups, drawing from as many churches across Bolton as possible. The project will offer many opportunities for contribution and involvement in preparing, planning, presenting and participating to many community groups, including amateur dramatic soceities and schools.
The project aims also define what the event is about.
1. To deliver a production on Saturday 23rd April 2011 that communicates the message of Easter through drama and music.
2. To build improved cohesion across the Christian Churches, wider faith groups and cultuarl divides.
3. To empower local people involved to develop their potential and also to create volunteering opportunies for young people to develop their talents.
4. To add value to One Bolton Events, by presenting ahigh quality prestigious drama on the Town Hall square.
5. To raise the funding needed to deliver the project.
